Your health is a reflection of the choices you make daily. Healthy habits create a foundation for a life and legacy that you are proud of. They include creating a balanced diet that keeps you fuelled and energized, adding movement to your routine, promoting restorative sleep, and implementing stress management strategies that enforce the mind-body connection.
When this foundation is strong your body can better adapt to stressors in your life, making it easier to maintain a state of true health. Together we can focus on implementing a plan that supports your individual health needs and fits your busy life, so health becomes a habit, not a chore.
Supplements are recommended to help optimize your health and support your body's natural healing abilities. My goal is to use as few products as necessary to create the biggest positive impact on your health. Not all supplements are created equal. Naturopathic Doctors are experts in selecting the correct products for your health needs. We recommend supplements that provide you with the correct form, dose and combination of compounds from professional brands to ensure you are receiving effective treatment from reliable sources. Even more importantly, we are trained to ensure that your supplements and medications do not negatively interact with each other. Before taking a health product always check with a health care provider to ensure its right for you.
Botanical medicine is used to treat and prevent disease. It is a gentle and effective approach to both acute and chronic conditions. There are many ways to take herbs: tinctures, teas, topically, or in capsules. Together we can determine the correct dose, combination and form to help heal your body.
I offer conventional acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture, and cosmetic acupuncture. Acupuncture involves stimulating specific points in the body to optimize energy flow or targets specific areas with local activation. Acupuncture can be used for a variety of conditions based on conventional and/or TCM diagnoses.
Electroacupuncture is also available. This technique applies a small electric current between two acupuncture needles. It is commonly used to relieve muscle tension and reduce pain.
Lab testing is done to help drive your treatment plan in the right direction and monitor your progress. When lab testing is indicated the labs are purchased at the clinic and completed at a LifeLabs facility or your home. Both conventional and specialized testing is available, such as food sensitivity, salivary hormones, and the dried urine test for comprehensive hormones (DUTCH).
Relevant physical exams are preformed during your visits as needed to help diagnose and assess improvement. Female-focused exams are also available when indicated, such as vaginal exams, vaginal swabs, and breast exams. Send me an email through the form below if you have any questions regarding these exams.
HRT is also referred to as Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) or Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT). HRT is commonly used by perimenopausal and postmenopausal women to help manage symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood fluctuations, insomnia and vaginal dryness, as well as support bone health and cardiometabolic health during this transition.
Everyone experiences health and illness differently. Health is influenced by physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental factors. To truly understand your individual presentation your initial consultation is 75 minutes. During this appointment we will dive into your complex health concerns and goals. Together we will develop a plan built specifically for you. We will continue to adjust your plan as needed to ensure it is performing well for you and your unique lifestyle.
